Complimentary Wine Tasting July 16th

Established in 1972, Clos du Val, whose name in French means “small estate of a small valley”, has vineyards in Carneros as well as in the Stag’s Leap District in Napa Valley. Owned by American businessman John Goelet; French-born winemaker Bernard Portet’s old world style of winemaking is a perfect example of balance, complexity and elegance. The 1972 vintage of the Cabernet Sauvignon took first place at the reknowned 1976 Paris tasting that tested how well French and American wines tested over the 10 years previous.

2006 Merlot

Aromas of black berries, dried herbs and cassis. Rich and well integrated with a long lingering finish

Laurent Miquel is installed at the Château Cazal Viel, owned by the Miquel family since 1791. Located at the foot of the mountains Caroux, the vineyards can "develop subtle and varied wines." The climate calls for hot and dry summers which are often followed by a mild fall, thus giving rise to "beautifully aromatic wines, which are beautifully sung to their fabulous terroir."

Chardonnay Viognier

Described as "bursting with fresh fruit character," the Chardonnay Viognier has combined aromas of citrus and white peaches. On the palate enjoy rich apricot and citrus flavors with a hint of almond on the finish

Syrah Viognier

Signature blend of Syrah and Viognier grapes co-fermented without the use of oak. This allows the full expression of the fruits and pays homage to the terroir

Firefly Fine Wines and Ales in Maple Ridge will be having a complimentary tasting of Clos du Val and Laurent Miquel wines on Saturday, July 16th from 3pm -7pm.
