Wine Of The Week- Painted Rock

Wine of the Week

Painted Rock
Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Tasting Notes :
Aged for 18 months in new French oak. It has aromas of cassis, black cherry, cigar
box and tobacco leaf precede very ripe dark fruit, leather and coffee bean.
The mid palette is intense, dark and yet elegant. Acids are very much in
balance and fine velvety tannins coat the entire mouth leading to a long
rich, dark cherry and chocolate finish.

For Painted Rock their Cabernet Sauvignon has done very well. The 08 is only their second release.
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon was the first Painted Rock wine to sell out long before it was awarded the 2010 Lieutenant Governor's award for excellence in B.C. wine. Along with the Icon Red.
After a Barrel tasting in May with John Schreiner he declared "for its coming second release 08 Cabernet Sauvignon  Painted Rock has done even better." He was impressed.

Named for the Pictographs that border their 60 acre property.Painted Rock is located in Penticton on the eastern shore of Skaha Lake.
